This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on jjkcharacters.net, and how to control them. It goes with our privacy policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Similar technologies include localStorage, which saves data in your browser without sending it to a server, and pixels or scripts that third parties use to measure visits and ads.
What we use
Strictly necessary
Our own pages set no cookies to work. Cloudflare, our host, may set security cookies (such as __cf_bm) to filter bots and protect the site. These are needed for security and don't track you across sites.
Preferences (localStorage, not a cookie)
The spoiler switch stores jjk-spoilers (value 1 or 0) in your browser's localStorage. It never leaves your device and doesn't expire on its own. Clear your site data to remove it.
Analytics
If analytics is enabled, it helps us count visits and see which pages are read. Cloudflare Web Analytics doesn't use cookies. Google Analytics, if we use it, sets cookies such as _ga and _ga_*, which can last up to two years. Where consent is required, these only load after you agree.
Advertising
When Google AdSense is active, Google and its partners may set cookies to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure performance and, if you allow it, personalize ads based on your browsing. These include Google's DoubleClick cookies (for example IDE, test_cookie) and AdSense cookies (for example __gads, __gpi). Some are set on Google's domains rather than ours. Consent
Visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland will see a consent message before non-essential cookies or personalized ads are used. You can accept, reject, or choose by purpose, and you can change your choice later through the privacy settings link that the consent tool adds to the page. Elsewhere, you can opt out with the controls below.
How to control cookies
- Personalized ads: Google Ads Settings, aboutads.info, youronlinechoices.eu.
- Google Analytics: the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Your browser: every major browser lets you block or delete cookies and site data in its settings. Blocking all cookies may break parts of some sites, though our pages will keep working.
- Global Privacy Control: where the law recognizes it, we treat a GPC signal as an opt-out of sale or sharing.
